Katie Barrett Todd is an ordained Teaching Elder (to Ministry of Word and Sacrament) in the Presbyterian Church (USA). A native South Carolinian, Katie has served churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky and is currently serving in ministry in Lincoln, Nebraska. Katie’s call to ministry started as a young girl growing up actively in the church, and continued into new church development following college. She has a passion for designing worship, developing curriculum resources, enabling disciples, creating retreats, and young adult/campus ministry.
Katie sees her call as one to the more practical side of ministry: taking the abstract and making it applicable to the everyday, or imitating God’s accommodation to God’s children. A graduate of the University of South Carolina in Public Relations, and Union Presbyterian Seminary with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education, Katie spends a large chunk of her time writing resources. Some of Katie’s work can be found on the Storypath website of Union Presbyterian Seminary, and you can also find her writing in Get Real: Finding Your True Self in Jesus published by Chalice Press. Pretty soon, she’ll also begin publishing some of her work independently – stay tuned!
In 2005, Katie married her high school sweetheart, Rev. Mason M. Todd and together they have two children, Luke and Lilly.
