31 days: hall of fame

I love the message in this song, and I love that it was so popular among the younger demographics. This is precisely the message that we all need to hear, but especially our younger students and their peers. This world is filled with so many negative messages, rivalries, comparisons, judgments, harsh statements and more. What can be more uplifting than a song speaking encouraging words?

Words give life. These words ooze life.
These words need to be heard.
Let them become your mantra every day.

Hall of Fame
by The Script

Yeah, You could be the greatest
You can be the best
You can be the king kong banging on your chest
You can beat the world
You can beat the war
You can talk to God, go banging on his door

You can throw your hands up
You can beat the clock
You can move a mountain
You can break rocks
You can be a master
Don’t wait for luck
Dedicate yourself and you could find yourself

Standing in the hall of fame
And the world’s gonna know your name
Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world’s gonna know your name
And you’ll be on the walls of the hall of fame

You can go the distance
You can run the mile
You can walk straight through hell with a smile
You can be the hero
You can get the gold
Breaking all the records they thought never could be broke

Do it for your people
Do it for your pride
Never gonna know if you never even try
Do it for your country
Do it for you name
Cause there’s gonna be a day

When you’re standing in the hall of fame
And the world’s gonna know your name
Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world’s gonna know your name
And you’ll be on the walls of the hall of fame

On the walls of the hall of fame

Standing in the hall of fame

To be completely honest, I didn’t really pay attention to it until the night I was watching the episode of Glee that featured the New Directions singing this song. It was at that moment that I realized the power behind the words, after all, Ryan Murphy only selects songs that are teachable moments for the characters in the show to portray to the viewers. Take a moment to not just listen to these words, but watch the video also, even if you already know the song well. And be prepared. That’s all I’m going to say about the video. Just be prepared.

Who are you going to be?
Student.
Teacher.
Politician.
Preacher.
Astronaut.
Doctor.
Leader.
Champion.

How about a believer?
Faithful?

Who has God created you to be?
What will you inspire in others?

Whatever it is, don’t give up.
Go.
Take your place in the Hall of Fame.
