lilly’s baptism

We traveled back to South Carolina over Labor Day weekend for Mason’s third vacation of the year, and while we were there we celebrated Lilly’s baptism with friends and family. Since Mason & I now work in two separate congregations, and since all family is in South Carolina (with the exception of the Florida branch), and since we absolutely love that Rev. Amos Disasa baptized Luke, we chose to have him baptize Lilly at Downtown Church on September 1st. The worship was nothing short of spectacular, like we always experience at Downtown Church, and the sacrament was beautiful. A dear friend prayed over Miss Lilly and her family after the baptism, and another dear friend gifted us with beautiful photography to remember the occasion.

Warning, here is picture overload, but Heather did such an amazing job with the photography that I can’t help but share them with you. (She did exactly what I’d hoped – captured the day and even caught things that I didn’t know were happening – like when Luke decided to baptize himself after seeing Lilly baptized.)  I hope you enjoy them as much as we did. And thank you for helping us remember our special day for our beautiful baby girl.

Thank you to all who celebrated with us, near and far. Thank you for your prayers and your covenant to help us raise our sweet, precious gift of God.

And thank you to the FPC Mayfield congregation for joining in the covenant with us this past week during Lilly’s cradle cross gifting. We’ve had a very sweet two weeks in worship celebrating Miss Lilly.

Lilly, may you always know how much you are loved by us, but most importantly, by God.
