swimming lessons

Mason & I decided that it’s very important for us to expose our kids at a very young age to the water so that they develop both a respect and a love of water. Being a former swimmer, coach and lifeguard, I jumped at the chance to sign Luke up for Mommy & Me swimming lessons offered at the church where he attends school. Yes, the church has a pool! Even at 35 weeks pregnant, we started the 6 week swim lessons program for Luke because summer is coming and we want him to appreciate and love being in pools. He’s quite the little fish! We practice some of our techniques (blowing bubbles, kicking, scooping water & face in the water) during bath times at night in order help reinforce what he’s learned in classes. At this point we have one more week of classes to go, and I have to say I’m very excited about the progress Luke has made in the classes. We can’t wait, already, to sign him up for the next round of Mommy & Me (or maybe Daddy this time) classes as we head more into summer.
