Every year we get our tree from the New Kirk Youth, and this year it was especially big and beautiful. The house has smelled incredible, and once again, this tree has not dropped many needles. We love our NKPY Fraser Fir trees!
This year we’ve been incredibly busy and stressed with me being gone for Thanksgiving, Mason’s stepdad’s passing, and finishing up CPE at the hospitals. We’ll, we graduated from CPE on Tuesday and made Wednesday night our tree-decorating date night. We cozied up inside (away from the bitter arctic temperatures we’re having right now) and made some burbon butternut squash soup, listened to Christmas carols on Pandora radio and decorated the tree. It’s always so much fun unwrapping each ornament year after year…each one tells a story. And of course, I love adding the new ones from the year gone by to add to our family story.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I’m so thankful that I have a home to decorate, family to celebrate with, and a Savior that was born to bring me life. What a reason to celebrate…what a season of joy!
